For the CPU, 6 cores seem slightly too little, get something with at least 8 cores. I've got a Ryzen 9 5900X with 12 cores, since I thought I'd be doing stuff like video editing and playing very intense games. I don't use all of my cores like 90% of the time so it's a bit overkill. For a CPU Cooler and fans, use Thermalright instead of Noctua. They tend to be cheaper and better. Also do you really need 240hz? 144hz should be smooth enough. Even 120hz should be good. For the mouse get the VXE R1, it's probably the cheapest good gaming mouse on the market right now. For headphones, if you don't need a mic I got the AKG K92's and they sound like shit but the soundstage is amazing. Once you apply EQ to them though, they sound great though the bass could be better. I broke mine so decided to get the Soundcore Space One, which are extremely good for the price (not sure how good the mic is). The soundstage is slightly bad though. The Sony WH-CH720N is better than the Soundcore but it's slightly more expensive so if you have the money get the Sony headphones. Gaming headphones tend to be a fucking scam, you basically only pay for the RGB while getting shit audio. For the case I can recommend the Corsair 4000D airflow. The airflow is really good. But that's an ATX one, it might be too big for you.

I don't think I needed a AM5 type, this AM4 one I found along with this other GPU should be able to achieve 1440p 144hz gaming, as well do general software tasks fine. I don't play triple AAA slop anyway so I'm not bothered that this rig won't be able to run them at peak performance, but from what I've seen of the CPU and GPUs capabilities, it can run newer games fine. I guess the one thing that concerns me is the storage. It seems NVME type storage is better than SATA type storage, even hybrid, but I'm not sure.

The GPU is changed to a nvidia one, while there's no monitor. This was done to make the machine compatible with the G-Sync monitor I already have, so the build comes out cheaper. I just wanted to go with AMD components as people always talk about how bad nvidia is with linux, but my friends says he's had no problems with nvidia stuff with linux. Also, AM5 type PC builds are more customisable, so if I wanted to change parts later on, it would be a worthwhile investment.

>>1733 here! i love both builds!, imo, if you feel comfortable i cant stress this enough, check ebay or facebook for second hand barely used or new parts, people throw stuff away for insanely cheap! especially right now. if youre worried about money you might be able to pick up a part or two youre interested in that someones throwing away for pennies, only downside is that you may not get warranty, which can be a deal breaker for some. not to blog on but if i used my build for example, brand new would have cost me over 4k AUD, but i bought 3/4 of it off facebook either brand new or barely used and i only spent around 2.3, just food for thought
