due to how close the poll is, we've decided to play both TF2 and L4D2 on Saturday. this likely will extend the length of game night but i don't think that's much of a problem right

since i'll be late to the party, Syrno will handle starting the event, and those who join will decide what game to play first. reminder that you can voice chat with us either using dicksword or mumble, as they are bridged together.

instead of making a poll right away, i want to instead ask you guys to list off some games to put on the poll. even if they're games already on the previous polls that is fine. i just want to give the opportunity to change things up instead of cycling the same games for the poll this time around. please make some suggestions! also, i would like to make another suggestion that we can do movie night instead/alongside game night if there isn't a game everyone wants to play for a particular month. so if there is interest in something like that please let me know.

okay actually don't do that link. i have a better solution through Halo: Custom Edition. made by Gearbox who were the ones that ported Halo to PC. https://www.halomaps.org/hce/detail.cfm?fid=410 this will install the game (multiplayer only). use CD key mcxmm-y29c6-dr36c-b6w4t-t9p73 (seemingly infinite uses, worked for me). https://www.halomaps.org/hce/detail.cfm?fid=6798 this patch will allow the game to run as it removes the CD-ROM requirement and removes Gamespy. run this after install. after that it should start right up. i was able to launch and connect to servers. ran fine for me although the game certainly shows its age LOL. i am assuming everything should work as normal on Linux if you use WINE. i can't test it at the moment, but if someone else could i'd appreciate it. we will either play on one of the dozens of empty servers or host our own.

Which maps did you end up playing? I was pleased to find a working Lutris script that installs an updated HD version of the game but there were only bots online and no custom maps. I was hoping to ride around in a tachikoma like the old days.

>>1512 we mostly played standard maps, a lot of Blood Gulch but other maps too. basically whatever the servers we hopped around to were hosting. also, i think custom maps and community servers are only on Halo: Custom Edition, which as i stated above was a version released by Gearbox (who ported the game to PC) and only works on the original game. i could br wrong tho. one of the people who joined had to do some DLL fuckery in the WINE prefix to get it to work, but it does run on Linux. if we play this game again (i would definitely like to) i hope you'll play with us!

good August hikarins. sorry for skipping out last month, i had an important meeting out of town. this month i am working the last Saturday of the month but i would still like to have a game night. the options are, either do it on the 23rd or do it earlier on the 30th. as of now i don't have any overtime planned for the 23rd but that may change. i also have the 16th off for sure. please let me know what would work best for you all. also suggest some gaymez!
