I've finished my Master's in the meanwhile and I did have a couple of internships, mostly during the Summer I'm currently employed at a software company and the pay is quite good, but I'm considering pursuing a PhD instead I much prefer learning and researching than working, even if it's harder and pays less

I'm in my 3rd year of a bachelors in Computer Science. I haven't really done any internships or jobs yet, just small projects on GitHub. Does anybody have any tips for where I should go from here?

>>335 Reinforce the emphasis on github projects. Many people claim that they are useless for employability but they are wrong. I graduated in audiovisual but landed a job as a software engineer from self-taught merit over the years. One of the things that helped me the most was exactly my github projects as it could show my employers grounded/tangible experience and knowledge that could be checked immediately. Another thing. It seems that employers really like when your CV is tailored to the role you are applying to, so try to tailor your CV to each different position you apply to by highlighting the tools/knowledge they ask for which you know. If you don't know the tools an frameworks they use, check it out for at least a few hours just to see how they are like. Avoid using corporate buzzwords because technical interviewers notice that immediately. Try to keep the CV succint, you don't need to write about your personal life. These tips I'm talking about are mostly important for the technical employer/interviewer but definitely not the HR. The HR is always employment's biggest enemy but there's not much you can do about that.

>>346 It's possible, but you need to get lucky. I got scouted out on LinkedIn by a recruiter for a medior Linux sysadmin/devops job without a degree or any prior experience, so it's definitely possible. I may have just gotten extremely, extremely lucky.
