What have hikarin been listening to lately? I've been getting really into the Velvet Underground recently, but I'm interested in what this board's favourite artists would be. A friend keeps sending me denpa recommendations . . . so things to surprise her with by recommending back would be especially cool!nya

a lot of hip hop i came across this comedian (on the internet, you dont get to see the video, suck my dick) who said this joke that i liked >i was listening to hip pop in the car with this mate of mine and he is really into it, but he is only singing this one word every time, like he is the dumbest hype man in the word, like "NWORD, yeah... NWORD" >like we are listening to kanye and jay-z and i dont think he knows they are in paris

>>12723 The velvet underground are great, they're one of my top three favourite rock bands from america, alongside frank zappa/the mothers of invention, and pere ubu. Probably my favorite album from them is their third self titled album, and the song on there pale blue eyes. If you enjoy the velvet underground, some of lou reeds and especially john cales solo works are great, john cales paris 1919 is amazing. Here's my top 10 favorite music artists if anyone is interested, If not then go fudge yourself.angry 1. Front 242 2. Richard wagner 3. Chet baker 4. The mothers of invention 5. King crimson 6. Burzum 7. Orbital 8. New order 9. Pere ubu 10. Foetus >>12724 Hip-hop is my least favorite genre, but I enjoy hip-hop artists like mf doom, beastie boys, and death grips at least. It's just that most hip-hop is just people rapping about stupid degenerate shit over repeating, monotonous, instrumentals.

>>12726 i am into that side of hip pop personally...

>>12729 I can only get so far into it with just some songs of someone like notorious big, but thats it.

i'm kind of a person who listens to everything, but usually i prefer anything that is alternative and/or made for otakus. i think from a more "mainstream" side i listen to rap (i like both trap and hip-hop), while on the more alternative side, i'm into rock, tweepop, shibuya kei, denpa kei, and anything that is like eletronic/chiptune.

I have been listening to a lot of MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS, My Chemical Romance, Nujabes, and Deftones recently. I listen to primarily different kinds of rock but supplemented with some lofi hip-hop and city pop.

I’ve been listening to Xiu Xiu! Chapel of the Chimes has been on my rotation a lot especially.

>>12778 Xiu xiu are excellent. Saw them live and it was one of my favourite experiences. You should give angel guts a listen if you haven't yet...
