AVCHonline recently posted this beautiful animation. I think this is the first animation he's done since "the story of the red shoes". Anyway, there is just something so beautiful about all of his art. It is so unique, I've never seen anything like from anyone else. All of his art has this beautiful aura. It is this beautiful purgatory between saccharine innocence and somberness and melancholy. It reminds me of dreams I've had where I find something of such incomprehensible beauty that it can exist only within the dreams, and cannot even be imagined. In some of these dreams I become lucid towards the end and try to desperately grasp it into the real-world, but of course fail. The first time I found his artwork, it was late at night. The next morning I had thought it had been a dream, only to discover that it was actually real. It felt like I somehow took out of a dream and into the real-world. The melancholic and somber part also reminds of this distinct type of loneliness and fading that I have only experienced in dreams as well. It feels like the setting of the sun. Glancing away and towards it get and the feeling suddenness when you come to realize how much has changed.
