What would your dream videogemu be about?

>>
>>1228 yeah also a dark fantasy like vermis I and vermis II
>>
>>1061 A twisted metal but with magical girls riding brooms/floating/using their familiars
>>
>>1061 An open world game with a massive map that would take a very long time to cross. The plot should be open: you should be able to go kill the main villain from the very beginning ( like in botw), but there should also be many optional questlines that give you valuable information about your goal, gear, skills etc along the way. Player actions should visibly change the world in meaningful ways. There should be systems that make returning to previously visited areas difficult or undesirable not just because of distance, but other in-world reasons and mechanics though it should still be possible. The world should have huge mountains that are actually hard to climb and descend, and vast swamps. I want a high level of interactivity with the world. If I leave an item somewhere, I want it to stay there forever like in morrowind. There should be AI-powered companions, and maybe other cool AI systems integrated throughout the game as well. It should either be Blame!-like cyberpunk or an apocalyptic dark fantasy. Either way the world should make the player feel very lonely. Friendly npc encounters should be extremely rare, but also really meaningful so that when the player finally meets someone it feels special
>>
>>1321 i'm playing botw right now and i didn't even know you could do that. i assumed straight away that the castle is blocked off but if i can just go there and kill him that would be cool. i hope i eventually get a weapon that i can use more than twice without breaking.
>>
>>1322 If you are playing on emulator you can download a mod that disables weapon breaking, I think

been looking for some VNs to play when im not horny. ones with good writing/stories/characters preferred over a pretty art style, but if its particularly interesting to look at ill let some sloppy writing slide

What are your experiences with this game and what do you think of it? And if you haven't played it, what the fuck are you doing with your life? Go and play it!

>>1174 The remixed tracks in particular sound over-produced and doesn't fit well with the tone. The original ost had just the right amount of dissonance to create the unique vibe.

Hi persona frens, which demon/persona is your favorite?
>>
>>1170 I think I'm still more positive on Reload than most people even though I really didn't like it that much. but the one thing that's driving me crazy is how many people I've seen calling the ps2 cutscenes ugly out of the sudden like Of course we all agree they're wonky. but at least they're thought out compared to the ugly unserious both 2d and 3d slop from the remake. I played Reload recently and the cutscenes are so unserious every single one outside of the awakening and a certain death scene are so bad like come onnn

Comfy obscure games thread. Discuss comfy games that are not well known. Anything is fair game. I'll start https://archive.org/details/junko-v-1.02 (Really cute and well made for a game jam game free too!) GiFTPiA (Really relaxing gamecube game nobody every discusses https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3p7XhdXlBQ)

Hope doing detailed autism post is fine for the thread... This game, Magical Block Carat, is the best puzzle game I've ever saw in terms of chaining/combo mechanics . (And it's unfortunate that it's supposedly a porn game, even though the h parts are on a separate disc, because it makes it impossible to show it in public events/anicons.) At its core the game is a match-3 (similar to panel de pon or Tetris Attack), but you have a button that switches the break to work either cardinally or diagonally at any time, including during combos ! The game offers a ton, with customizable block sets (mahjong set!), mission mode that teaches you how to do weird shapes and combos, and killer soundrack on the pc98 version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eman9Qg4m60 Will visit some friends for easter vacations, would appreciate recommendations for obscure games with local multiplayer if you have any!

a thread where you talk about games that aren't out yet. really, i just didn't want to make separate threads for every new game that i saw that i wanted to share. there's this dungeon-crawling jrpg that was shown off at Tokyo Game Show that looks cute. it's called Witch and Lillies. it looks like Etrian Odyssey, but your party members can date each other. https://youtu.be/DFh1Ni9fOzk?feature=shared

>>670 >koe Holy shit, hasn't this been in development for almost a decade now? I thought it was long dead. In the meantime the game was being made I already reached a somewhat satisfactory level of Japanese, so I don't know if it will be of any use for me now Hopefully it turns out to be good and help whoever is just starting to learn

Orkastle is an indiegame in the style of a JRPG that's currently in development. The developer is going as far as writing it in Japanese, then translating it into English. It has a retro, horror theme and gameplay heavily inspired by the first generation of Pokemon. The semi-official info site: https://orkastle.neocities.org/

What are some old mario-like games that have linear (but challenging) gameplay? I need something to pass the time when I am too out of it to be productive that won't frustrate me
>>
contra there was such sega game, can be played on an emulator let me check for a link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contra:_Hard_Corps great game, but playing it without joysticks sucks
>>
megaman, specially megaman 3
>>
>>940 Beating the giant thing in level 1 with the direction buttons is like impossible lol
>>
>>942 Back when I played it on Sega my joysticks were old as the world, they didn't have thumb sticks, so moving in directions was done with buttons as well, but it was still much more comfortable that keyboard. >impossible I know an avid Sega fan who beat the entire game on keyboard, though I didn't inquire how exactly.
