NEW YEAR'S GIKOPOI Anonymous 12/27/2025 (Sat) 05:05:23 No. 11712 [Reply]
Remember to make plans for New Year's Day/Night as we hang out in Gikopoi again, as is tradition. If you're someone that has plans to try streaming stuff like anime or games or audio, now is the time to do the troubleshooting because it can be very annoying to set it up since you have to convert the mic signal to some sort of emulated audio thing. Anyway, I hope to see you there. Remember to be on your best hikarin behavior because we'll be interacting with other communities! We must ensure a hikarin cultural victory! https://gikopoipoi.net/ Be there and be square.

>>9988 if u can face people for few seconds each time u meet them, then a delivery rider. the comfy depends on weather and orders luck. it's literally the best for people who dislikes coworkers' bullshit for there's none. besides, you are -always- on the move, always kinetic, opposite to sitting in one place which have an effect on other wageslaver's mind (you don't understand it if you haven't done any) if u do not mind messing with your sleep cycle, then a nightshift bodyguard. the downside is this is already very close to police shit (and as we know police are people who sells their souls to whoever in power, so... up to u, depends on your morals and ideology), and there's a small chance of danger with criminals. coworkers' bullshit is also based on luck; if u get the alone one. then there's kurt cobain, worked as school janitor before he got big as a band. i bet that must have a certain solitary comfiness.

>>10498 >>10492 The upside to any security work is cops instantly let you go the moment they find out you work security. Even if they're fucking with you. Even if you happen upon their illegal road blocks while drunk. Even if you're high. They think >he's one of us! and let you go.
>>
>>10491 I heard you needed a license so I stayed away from it >>9988 Maybe.. post office delivery? I can't think of one, exactly. Perhaps a coach at a gym. Maybe, the military or a trade
>>

>>11705 >I heard you needed a license so I stayed away from it That depends on where you live. If you're in the US, that will depend on your state. My state does not require any specific license to be a security guard. I know this because I am an armed guard for state/military sites and did 4 years of unarmed work before this. I agree that being a security guard can be extremely easy and comfy, that's the entire reason I have done it so long. 80% of my job is watching anime or reading or playing vidya, and I have more responsibility now as an armed guard than I did before LOL. I will say though it is very dependent on WHERE you become a guard for. Avoid hospitals, convention centers, and sports arenas like the plague if you want comfy. Night shift is usually even easier and more independent if you want to avoid people.

Hikarins! Do you journal or write a diary? Have you learned shorthand or cursive? Are you writing up anything?

>>11644 About 130 pages (A4) of scrapbooking this year. I have a lot of spare notebooks from my school days that are falling apart so I'm keeping one on my desk all the time. Physically writing down things as they come up and then processing them later digitally has been very helpful for developing my novels. Writing in the morning helps me set my goals for the day too. I want to get into keeping a proper diary one day though. Something that could last for a long time that I can look back on in 10-15 years.
>>
Writing is nice but my writing form is abysmal. Typing is better but it's difficult to stop as I could type my thoughts forever if I could, probably. I could use to sketch stuff all the time though. I should normalize that since I waste my time daily anyway.
>>
>>11676 Anon get one of these! A5's are always great! https://a.co/d/fqWEZyU >Physically writing down things as they come up and then processing them later digitally has been very helpful for developing my novels. Are they long anon? A diary would help you remember a lot of things too!
>>
>>11691 It's so easy to edit spreadsheets I can't imagine how people'd done it years without Try sketching hikarin! It'll be worth the effort! happy
>>
I have a txt file where I'll jot down some of my thoughts every now and then. I would love to write more often since I notice I am much more productive in my life when I am, but alas it is way too easy to procrastinate and throw the time away... My handwriting is pretty terrible, for whatever reason I cannot write in a straight line and the ends of my sentences tend to skew downwards

>>11591 Ginger Tea, bless. Just a few slices of lemon and maybe 2 thin slices of ginger with skin on (wash it), and just boil it. You can add honey, avoid processed sugar like the hikarin above said. Ginger is really good.

>>11591 Try different strengths and prepariations. I think most people add hot water to the bag then add milk, but sometimes it can be nice to steep the tea in milk for a while before adding the hot water (though don't tell anyone, they hate to hear this). If you really want to use tea to it's fullest, cook with it. Anything that requires hot water to cook will absorb tea flavours. I mostly use it in vegetable stews and soups, but it works well with freezedried noodles too (savory varieties). I even tried it in a wet stirfry once, was great. It's a strange ingredient that I can't actually identify in the taste of foods, but still notice how the dish is better for it. It must layer a base flavour, or maybe it's a caffine hit?

Im from the south so Sweet Tea is amazing. Arnold Palmer is even better

>>11656 >I drink too much coffee, and i need stop with this, so i trying to like tea, seems more wholesome. Tea has less caffeine than coffee normally so this makes sense. I usually drink green or white tea with milk and honey. I am by no means a connoisseur. oops
